Jacksonville Youth Council

The Jacksonville System of Care Initiative has formed the first Jacksonville Youth Council. The Council will provide a venue for children, youth, and young adults to harness and channel their voices to catalyze social change regarding issues that impact young people.

The mission of the Council is to develop and train young people to represent themselves and the youth voice in community decision-making on local, state, and national levels. This body will be comprised of youth from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds with an aim to use these differences as strengths to take on issues across demographics.

The Council select young leaders within our community to come together and work collectively to find solutions to the issues that impact them through the advancement of the rights of children and youth. Members of the Jacksonville Youth Council will receive development opportunities such as:

  • Training from international child rights experts
  • Leadership seminars
  • Policy workshops and conferences that teach youth the importance of social issues that are shaping their world

The Council will dedicate its resources to the leadership and character development of its membership, thus we are requesting a commitment from our members and that the organization/school is supportive of their representative.
